"MeAR Fryslân" is not just another route app, but an app that takes you on an interactive tour along all the beauty Fryslân has to offer. In "MeAR Fryslân" you will find routes with additional digital experiences in the form of augmented reality, photos, video and audio.

For example, during a walk through Leeuwarden you will discover who Mata Hari, Willem Lodewijk and Escher were, and during a bike ride through Ferwert-Hegebeintum you will become acquainted with Gemme van Burmania. Or you sail past the milk strike during WWII in the "Far dy frij" sailing route in Oudega. The 11Fountains car route is also highly recommended: in every Frisian city, a member of the fountain committee tells something about the fountain in question.

Download the route of your choice preferably on a wifi connection so that you are not dependent on an internet connection. After the route is downloaded, it is available offline in the app.

The "MeAR Fryslân" app takes you with the GPS of your mpbile phone and a clear route along points that have a story behind them. First, a short explanation is given for each point, after which you can start the interactive experience.
